NEW NARRATIVE MAP
My new video idea is going to be based around a murder mystery. the way i have set out to structure the video is to make it so that the video itself is a build up to the big reveal at the end.
EXISTING VIDEO INSPIRATION
This is the video that helped me to visualise what i wanted my NEW video to look like. the video effectively has the use of a P.O.V camera. what made me want to do this in my video was looking at the way the main character is presented (the one waring the head cam) this type of shot puts you in the shoes of the character and give a more intimate relationship between the audience and the character themselves. for my video because the main character (one wearing head cam) is somewhat the product of controversy as the video follows a murder the P.O.V cam will give the audience an insight into the mind of the character therefor somewhat challenging Propp's theory of a clear distinction between the hero and villain because the distinction between the two isn't clearly shown in my video (the true villain isn't revealed until the end). but also liking to Strauss' theory on 'Good v Evil' and 'Weak v Strong'.
what i liked about this video i how the narrative is structured. i think it is really effective to have the narrative structure back to front as in the whole video as the viewer you are kept in suspense to see the big reveal at the end. and it drive people to pay more attentions.

Changing of Plans
Ellise- e
Since our last filming session my project partner has left school, this has put a strain on our work scheduling as she has chosen to pursue a career, this ultimately means that both her and my schedules have started to clash and it has become much harder to film and piece the video together.
what I have figured out as an alternative option is to the situation is to alter the story of the video. what I have thought would be a good idea is to make the video look through a P.O.V perspective. the idea is to ultimately have the other character (aka my former partner) die so that I don't have to focus to much on filming her. I think what would be a good idea would be to make the video a mystery into the circumstances of her death hence the use of the P.O.V perspective and have a big reveal at the end. The P.O.V will allow me to do a lot of filming alone without worrying about anyone else's schedule.

Victoria Park - Filming & Photo-shoot
On the 23rd of february we went to film at Victoria park. The filming we did focused on the section of our video showing the friendship between the two characters.
A lot of the shots were taken from behind the characters. We
did this because we wanted to the camera to almost be watching the two
characters together. We wanted the composition of the shots to resemble that of
a memory where in memories you often look back on the moment with someone as a
whole picture as you rarely focus on the minute details.
When we got to the location we had already previously planned
out our filming session. However due to the positioning of light that day/that
time of day we had to change the angle of the shot around a bit .
We also scheduled out our time at the park. We made sure that we shot certain shot at specific times of the day. This shot was our last shot of the day as we wanted to capture a shot using the light from the sun as it goes down. The image of the sun going down is also symbolic of the decline of their relationship.
For this shot originally we set out to shoot it on the other
side of the pond so that we had more scenery in filling up the shot. However
the lighting from that side was very god as it was too dark. Also we found this
shot worked well as the glare from the sun gives the shot a warm, glowing look
to it.
